The Clean Up Movement

Co-Founder, Non-Profit
What began as a simple idea—take 15 minutes after a workout to pick up trash—has grown into The Clean Up Movement, a community of cyclists, runners, and everyday athletes committed to protecting the places we move through.
We launched Ride Clean Up in 2021 to spark environmental awareness among cyclists and inspire them to care for the spaces we love and train in. A year later, we expanded to include Run Clean Ups, building momentum across disciplines and bringing in running clubs, teams, and brands to join the movement.
As Art Director and passionate cyclist, I’ve helped shape the visual identity, content strategy, and creative storytelling that make this mission feel accessible, social, and cool—proving that sustainability can be low-commitment, high-reward. We've grown an active community in Miami, participating in environmental initiatives, conferences, and school programs to show how small moves can create big impact.

BRANDING
The Clean Up Movement’s branding is inspired by our natural playground in Key Biscayne, combining a surf-inspired, hand-drawn aesthetic to feel organic, fun, and approachable. The logo features two waves, symbolizing both movement (running and cycling) and collective action.
A signature neon yellow-green ties back to the biodegradable bags we use at cleanups, making the brand instantly recognizable. We created a flexible brand family, with a circular “wheel” badge and blue accents for Ride Clean Up, while Run Clean Up vertically stacked with turquoise accents.

SOCIAL MEDIA - REELS
One of the best ways to spread The Clean Up Movement and get our community engaged is through social media. By creating sharable content—like short, fun reels during our cleanups (either hopping on a trend or sharing quick recaps)—we give people an easy way to see and share the impact we’re making.

SOCIAL MEDIA - CAROUSELS
Our carousels are designed to capture the essence of each event, highlighting the energy, the action, and the community. Athletes love posting photos and videos of themselves—especially when it's tied to doing something meaningful. By tapping into that, we’re making sustainability feel accessible, cool, and worth sharing.

PARTNERING WITH LOCAL CLUBS
Aside from our own hosted Ride Clean Up and Run Clean Up, every month we also team up with local cycling and running clubs to spread awareness and inspire our community to give back through movement. These bi-weekly activations help bring new energy and expand our impact by integrating cleanups into already existing group workouts.

COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL INITIATIVES
We also collaborate with established clean-up organizations like Clean Miami Beach, bringing our athletic community into their efforts. In addition, we participate in environmental-focused events throughout the year—such as Coastal Clean Up, Earth Day activations, and school programs—to further amplify our mission and connect with like-minded groups.
